A year of growth and success for Tidy Green Clean, Forth Valley

Reading Time: 3 minutes

Tidy Green Clean’s Regional Director for Forth Valley, Hugh McGarry is already enjoying a positive start to 2021, with his first full year just behind him. The global pandemic has been an incredible challenge, yet he’s found the Forth Valley region has brought him new business, excellent business contacts and an outstanding cleaning team.

Hugh McGarry’s Tidy Green Clean Forth Valley commercial cleaning team provides an impressive range of services to companies large and small, both national and local, in the region. The nature of the pandemic and TGC Forth Valley’s extensive presence in both the hospitality and serviced offices sector forced the business to pursue other client options and pivot the business to assist both current and potential new customers. By offering COVID-19 sanitisation services such as AV fogging and deep cleaning, as well as PPE/hand sanitiser/signage and other business preparation, TGC was able to support business continuity services to help customers provide a Covid-secure environment, which is likely to be a key requirement for all premises for years to come. It has added a whole new area of expertise to TGC’s already extensive portfolio of cleaning and facilities management services and has been a key element in the success of the business in the Forth Valley.

While Hugh McGarry’s official territory is focused within the Forth Valley, he has also been flying the flag for the TGC group across the whole of Central Scotland, as well as servicing contracts in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Lanarkshire, and Ayrshire. These have brought their own logistical and team building challenges, but the TGC Forth Valley team has a brilliant customer focus and is earning a reputation for reliability, which has contributed to their many contract wins, and helped cement TGC’s presence and reputation in Central Scotland.

Hugh McGarry says,

“The business in the Forth Valley has seen steady growth despite the pandemic. I was only 3 months into the new business cycle when the first lockdown hit, and it has been a very challenging but worthwhile time and allowed me to learn more about the business probably more quickly than I might have done otherwise. Our success has also been complemented by the support of the wider TGC team and this has been a critical factor in working remotely from much rest of the team. As well as regular Zoom meetings and reviews with my fellow regional directors sharing best practice and collaborating across a variety of projects, we have also been using a variety of methods in Central Scotland to promote the business. We’ve made extensive use of social media platforms, networking events, email marketing campaigns and of course good old fashioned phone calls.

I think many businesses will reflect on the present situation and consider that if they are still operating and even experiencing growth as they exited 2020 – during the most challenging time in history for any business – then they are doing something right, and it means they have key foundations in place to really take business forward in better times – this is certainly the case for TGC Forth Valley.”

Andrew Alleway, TGC’s Managing Director stated,

“Hugh McGarry was our first Regional Director outside our home city of Aberdeen. Like all directors, he’s been given every help and achieved a phenomenal amount in his first year, despite all the challenges the pandemic has thrown at him. He has an outstanding team, and he has embedded himself in his local business community, building a strong network along with other like-minded business owners through the Second Wave Collective and other business groups. Hugh’s entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to his team have been major factors in his success and growth. We are delighted with his success and the exemplary ambassador Tidy Green Clean Forth Valley is for the Tidy Green Clean brand.”
