A Bristol oven valeter has his sights set on expansion after enjoying a successful first year in business.

Dave Manning, owner of Ovenu Bristol East, amassed more than 200 oven valets over the last 12 months and is targeting growth in his second year, with the potential to expand his operation with the support of a sub-contractor.

Dave, 49, who previously worked as a manager at a garden centre, realised one of his lifelong ambitions when he became his own boss with Ovenu.

Ovenu Bristol East provides an environmentally-friendly oven valeting service to homes and businesses throughout East Bristol.

Dave said: “It has been a great year for me as I fulfilled one of my aims of going into business, which has been challenging but equally rewarding. I am now looking to build on the progress I have made over the last 12 months and continue to establish the business across the city.

“I am hoping to be able to expand the brand throughout Bristol, and will hopefully be in a position to take on a sub-contractor and get another van on the road to support my growth plans in the not too distant future. There is plenty of hard work ahead but I am confident that this positivity will continue into the future and I can create a thriving small business.”

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.

Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and Founder of Ovenu, said: “Dave has worked incredibly hard during his first year with Ovenu and has reaped the rewards. He is a fine example of a new franchisee starting out in business and capitalising on the advice and guidance available to him to deliver a positive start to his business career with Ovenu. I would like to wish him all the very best in the future.”

The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
