An experienced construction manager is hoping to build a thriving small business as she ‘down tools’ for oven valeting across Lichfield.

Julie Anson-Boynton is to leave the ‘corporate world’ behind as she starts out in business as owner of Ovenu Lichfield.

Julie, 48, has enjoyed a successful career in sales and most recently in the construction industry, as a Mobile Hire Welfare Manager working on multiple projects and developments across the UK.

With a desire to become her own boss and fancying a change of scenery, Julie, from Clayhanger, researched a number of franchises before turning to Ovenu. She now plans on establishing the business in the city and aims to expand with sub-contractors in the future.

She said: “This will be the final stop in my career, so I am excited to be up and running, and in control of my own business. I have worked in the corporate world for more than 20 years, mainly in office environments, and I think the time was right to find something that would allow me to be more mobile.

“I am looking forward to meeting customers and building the business up in Lichfield, which will be challenging but is something that I have always wanted to do. In time, I am hoping to be in position to expand with the support of sub-contractors, and I am excited by the future potential the franchise has.”

Ovenu Lichfield serves homes and businesses throughout the city, and all surrounding areas.

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.

Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and Founder of Ovenu, said: “Julie has accrued many years’ experience in management and leadership, and is a perfect fit for Ovenu. She has strong aspirations for the future of her small business in Lichfield, and I would like to wish her all the very best.”

The Ovenu valeting process involves dismantling key components of an oven such as the door, interior panels, fan and shelves and placing them into design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic products to clean the oven parts. The whole process takes around three to four hours and leaves the oven, hob and exterior in immaculate condition.
