Debaere Works With Vegans to Develop A Range of Sweet Treats for Vegans

More and more people are going vegan. The environmental and ethical case is compelling and according to recent studies, going vegan is the single biggest way to reduce your impact on the planet.

Debaere has worked with vegans to develop a range of sweet treats for vegans. The process took several months to complete as raw materials had to be sustainably sourced; the look and feel of the products had to be just right and more importantly the taste had to be perfect not just for vegans.

Our vegan panel was highly critical and rightly so as we did not approach this as a fad but as a commitment to providing everyone access to cakes no matter what lifestyle choices are made. In the end we have come up with an exciting range including loaf cakes, macaroons, muffins and cookies all of which are pure vegan.

Debaere is not new to this type of development as for 16 years we have been producing gluten free products with great success. Our Orange & Polenta Loaf has been winning praise from our customers since its launch in 2003 so for us to create a vegan range seemed a natural transition.

Our vegan range enhances our product portfolio and we are planning more vegan products such as croissants and tarts to further enhance the range. Is the future to go completely vegan? That is hard to say at this point but we have proved that great tasting products can be made without animal products and if that is good for the planet then why not.
