A former driving instructor has accelerated his self-employment ambitions after launching an oven valeting franchise in Nottingham.

Rob Sansom has started out in business as owner of Ovenu Nottingham North, following a varied career.

Rob, 53, who is from the city, previously worked as a driving instructor and driver for the last 12 years, having spent six years in the Armed Forces as a vehicle mechanic and working for British Gas and Rolls Royce.

Having worked for himself before, as a driver and driving instructor, Rob was interested in franchising and was going to take on another franchise, but came across Ovenu and decided to pursue the opportunity.

He said: “I have enjoyed a varied career and have many years’ experience being a self-employed business owner, which sets me up perfectly for this new challenge with Ovenu. I am from Nottingham so have a very good understanding of the local area and am excited to get started.

“I am hoping to establish the business over the coming months and am looking forward to meeting and building strong relationships with customers. Hopefully in the not too distant future I will be in a position to grow the business and take on a sub-contractor to support the day-to-day duties.”

Ovenu Nottingham North serves homes and businesses throughout Hucknall, Arnold and surrounding villages.

Rik Hellewell, Managing Director and Founder of Ovenu, said: “Rob has a lot of experience of running a small business, and has all the tools necessary to be a successful Ovenu franchisee. I would like to wish him all the very best in this new chapter of his career.”

Ovenu is a franchise network made up of more than 100 businesses owned by men and women working throughout the UK.
