Franchise training keeps up with demand

The success of the franchise industry has enabled more people to run their own businesses, even if this is the first time they have considered such a venture.

With an experienced franchisor, creating a career to fit around your life and family is possible when you follow the tried and tested method.

Razzamataz Theatre Schools launched in 2000 and has been franchising since 2006. With so many years’ working with a range of franchisees, they have developed a training system that works for all.

The initial training starts with a fully comprehensive week at the company’s head office in Penrith. Everything is covered from product knowledge, employment law, child protection, PR, marketing, customer service, health and safety, bookkeeping and social media to name just some of the areas focused on. Although it is a very intense week, the training allows people to get their business off to a flying start as Jessica Chandler Smith, franchisee owner of Razzamataz Brentwood explains: “I learnt so much at training that it really made me feel prepared to open my theatre school. The Head Office team really make sure each and every angle is covered.”

Both new and existing franchisees are invited to brush up on their skills and to keep updated with the latest industry developments. “The training week is very intense but really we know that this is just the very start of our new Principals’ journey,” explains Denise Hutton-Gosney, MD and Founder of Razzamataz. “Throughout their launch period and in fact the entire time they are Principals, we will be in constant contact through Support Skype calls, webinar training sessions and regional and national meetings. We provide all the support, training and guidance that a new theatre school Principal needs and constantly keep up to date with any changes in regulations to pass that knowledge on to our theatre school franchisees.”

To keep up with demand, Razzamataz is now holding increased training sessions to allow more people to open their own theatre schools. This is in addition to all the other online learning via webinars as well as support calls, additional training to launch new products, the annual Conference and regular regional meetings.

This year’s training will also take on an exciting addition. Razzamataz has launched a new franchise offering to appeal to those looking for a part-time enterprise. Ideal for parents wanting to work flexibly around their children or someone who works part-time and is looking to combine this with their own business.

Razzamataz Early Years Franchise has been created to cater to the demand for people wanting to work in the children’s performing arts industry but who do not have the relevant experience to launch a Razzamataz Theatre School. It consists of a brand-new product called Razz Tiny Tots, which is a class especially designed for babies (6 to 24 months) and their parent/carer. It will also include the established products of Razz Tots for children age two and three and Razz Minis for those age four and five.

These classes will be run during the week rather than a Saturday and unlike the main school, there won’t be an end of year show to organise. This makes the franchise much more accessible to a wide range of people. Each Early Years Franchisee will receive full support and training so previous experience in the performing arts or running your own business is not necessary. As a special launch incentive, Razzamataz is looking for three dynamic franchisees to pilot this exciting product in return for a 50% discount. Two franchisees have already been recruited with the final opportunity still available.

Razzamataz Early Years Franchise is different from many other franchises in that it requires a minimal financial outlay compared to many other franchises. The franchise fee is £5000 + VAT and there is a £2,500 launch marketing budget. The three pilot franchisees will pay just £2,500 + VAT.

To find out if franchising is the right option for you, Razzamataz holds regular Discovery Den days across the UK where potential franchisees get a chance to meet the head office team, find out more about franchising in general and discover what it is like to run a part-time theatre school.
