bfa HSBC Emerging Franchisor of the Year, Radfield Home Care has welcomed its first franchise partner of 2020 as previous human resources director joins expanding network in Milton Keynes.

Jane Franks, owner and director of Radfield Home Care Milton Keynes, has lived in the area for over 30 years. Jane has broad business experience, having worked for over 25 years to HR director level for a leading food franchise based in Milton Keynes, and is also heavily involved with a local children’s bereavement charity.

Having followed the homecare sector with interest for some time, Jane was inspired by her mum to make a new start in senior care with a career change that would see her putting something back into her local community.

Following a nasty fall and an extended stay in hospital, Jane’s proud and fervently independent mum’s health started to decline, she explains: “Witnessing first-hand mum’s decline in hospital and the subsequent speed of recovery once she was being cared for in the familiar surroundings of home, gave me the inspiration to set up my own home care business.

“Having completed extensive research and initially meeting the Radfield team at the National Franchise Exhibition, I narrowed my search and Radfield were at the top of my list. As a family run business, Radfied had captured in a business the exact quality and ethics I was looking for. The model is truly person centred, helping clients, their families, carers and franchise partners. I could see that senior care was something I could really care about as a business, my business”.

Not only is Jane committed to providing quality care, she is also dedicated to assisting people to live comfortably and happily in their own homes with quality care delivered to a standard that would be good enough for her own mum to receive: “I am excited by the potential of the Radfield brand and proud to be able to support the communities that make up Milton Keynes. I am not only passionate about providing high-quality client centred care, but I am also dedicated to providing a great place for our carer professionals to work.”

Having recently completed the second phase of the Radfield Runway 20-day training programme, Jane will now begin working with the marketing team to onboard her first clients and carers ready for  when she begins trading in the coming weeks.

Radfield Home Care’s franchisor, Dr Hannah MacKechnie welcomed Jane to Radfield Home Care’s network, saying: “Jane’s entire career has been focussed on supporting and engaging people, which perfectly aligns with Radfield’s ethos and mission to provide ‘exceptional care by exceptional people’.

“Spending the vast majority of her career with a leading food franchise, Jane also has a wealth of experience in franchising. It is great to see that Jane recognised the Radfield franchise opportunity aligned with what she anticipated from a leading franchisor; including our commitment to franchise partner support and training; ethics and values; and model development.”
