The Cat Butler are thrilled to be chosen by Theo Paphitis to win his #SBS competition

Known as #SBS, Small Business Sunday is a Twitter-based campaign launched by the famous Dragon’s Den entrepreneur that sees different businesses chosen each week. Every week Theo rewards certain businesses from the many that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet. All of that week’s entries are then whittled down to Theo’s favourite six, which he then announces on the social media platform.

The idea behind the award was to celebrate the diversity of small businesses across the UK and create a supportive network. It also gives winners the opportunity to attend a day of business talks, help and advice organised by Theo and his team.

Last week, Sandra James, owner and founder of The Cat Butler, tweeted Theo about her business during ‘Small Business Sunday’ and was one of six weekly winners to gain a re-tweet by Theo to his near half a million Twitter followers. The weekly initiative, set up by Theo in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.

Business and retail entrepreneur and self-confessed Shopkeeper Theo re-tweeted Sandra’s message to his almost 500,000 followers. As a result, www.thecatbutler.co.uk has received a major boost in its website traffic and social media fans. They are also profiled on the #SBS website , which is exclusive to all Small Business Sunday winners.

A word from The Cat Butler HQ

Sandra James, founder and managing director of The Cat Butler:

We are thrilled and honoured that The Cat Butler has been selected to be part of the SBS family. Last year we launched our franchise throughout the UK and we have been trying hard to raise our profile. It is great to have support from Theo and winning Small Business Sunday has been a big promotional boost to us and all the other lucky businesses, especially after the last couple of years.

Many thanks to Theo Paphitis for choosing us as one of his #SBS winners, and if any other businesses reading this and fancies giving it a go, we say – go for it – you’ve got nothing to lose!

Small business champion and Ryman Stationery Robert Dyas and Boux Avenue Chairman, Theo Paphitis, said:

My #SBS small businesses are under 1% of those who have entered my competition, and they all have something in common; that entrepreneurial fire in their bellies and a will to succeed.

We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.  My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS re-tweet from me becomes part of a friendly club; of like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings. The website will also give a valuable profile to the winners chosen and I wish The Cat Butler every success.

How to enter Small Business Sunday

Anyone looking for a re-tweet from Theo should tweet him about their business on Sunday between 5 PM and 7.30 PM and include the hashtag #SBS. Six lucky businesses are re-tweeted every Monday at 8 PM and then invited to enter their profile on the new website, attend the annual #SBS networking event and take advantage of the networking opportunities.
