They had 134 trainers supporting 25,000 employees, spending more than $7 million a year on training, but they could not point to any results from the training.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SOLUTIONS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The first task was reorganizing the separate training groups into a single corporate university structure. Each business unit had representation and dedicated support, but the processes were standardized, professionalized, and based on industry research and best practice. We moved from 134 employees in training to 92 and coached each on effective methods and new standards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>RESULTS<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By the second year of operation, the corporate university had proven its worth to each Schwan business unit and saved more than $2 million. More importantly, the alignment between training and operational results was clear&#8211;from safety to sales to operations and finance.
