There\u2019s no-one happier than Danny Kearns\u2019 father after he took over oven valeting business Ovenu Jersey.<\/p>\n

For it was dad Heath who alerted the self-employed plumber to the opportunity after he called Ovenu to have his oven cleaned, only to learn the island\u2019s previous franchisee had retired.<\/p>\n

With Danny searching for a career where he could structure his work around family commitments, he quickly realised the huge business potential and recently became the proud owner of Ovenu Jersey.<\/p>\n

The 30-year-old, who is born and bred on the island, said: \u201cNaturally, my dad was my very first client and is extremely pleased after having had to wait a few months! As a long-standing Ovenu client, he alerted me to the fact the Jersey franchise was available.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not sure whether it was because it is a fantastic business opportunity or that he just wanted his oven cleaning, either way it\u2019s a win-win situation for both of us,\u201d he joked.<\/p>\n

Heath added: \u201cI\u2019m pleased that Danny is running a brilliant business that delivers a service that I value highly and hopefully in the coming years he will still find time to fit me in!\u201d<\/p>\n

Danny previously ran his own domestic plumbing business, but the father-of-two wanted to devote more time to his son and daughter and was looking to switch to a career that offered an improved work life balance.<\/p>\n

Having completed a week-long training course, he has relaunched Ovenu Jersey and within the first day had already secured a week\u2019s worth of bookings.<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cAs well as reconnecting with the loyal customer base, my ambition is to further grow the business by attracting new clients.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rik Hellewell, the founder and managing director of Ovenu said: \u201cHaving been a plumber experienced in running his own business, Danny has many transferable skills, which not only includes his technical expertise but his passion for delivering a top quality service.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Ovenu process involves dismantling key components such as the door, interior panels, fan, and shelves and placing them in design-registered tank equipment, which uses safe, non-caustic and biodegradable products to clean the oven parts. The whole process leaves the oven in a near showroom condition.\u00a0 As well as conventional ovens, it also covers hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves, together with range cookers and ovens.<\/p>\n
