With a background in Catering Management and a passion for Personal Training on the side, I found myself struggling to find a work-life balance after having my two babies close together. I was searching for something that aligned with my values, allowed me to use my skills, and most importantly, gave me the flexibility to spend more precious time with my little ones while supporting Mums just like me in their post partum period.

Did you have a background in fitness, education or early years before joining BabyBeats?

I had a background in Personal Training, specialising in pre and postnatal fitness. While I returned to training clients after having my children, something didn’t feel quite right—it just wasn’t the right fit for me at that stage of life. That’s when I began exploring other options that felt more aligned with where I was personally and professionally.

What made BabyBeats stand out compared to other franchise opportunities?

BabyBeats stood out to me because it didn’t just focus on baby development – it also supported mums during one of their most vulnerable times: the fourth trimester.

What has been the most stand out part of training/starting your BabyBeats franchise?

One of the things that really stands out to me is the incredible support from Rose and the other BabyBeats teachers. During my time in Personal Training, I worked with a few mentors, but it never quite aligned with what I was looking for. Most were focused on steering me towards online coaching, which just wasn’t the right fit for me. I was craving something community based. Coaching and Self Employment can already feel isolating and as a mum, that sense of isolation can be even more intense. I wanted to be part of something that brought people together, not further apart.

How do you balance running your business with personal or family life?

I’m still learning how to balance personal and family life but I’ve found that time blocking really helps me stay focused. Having a rough plan of what needs to be done, even if things don’t always go as expected, gives me a bit of structure and makes the juggle feel more manageable.

What kind of support did you receive from BabyBeats HQ when training/getting started?

Rose and Erin have been incredible, always offering support and helping to clarify anything I’ve been unsure about. When I was working as a Personal Trainer, I didn’t really have any solid foundations in place – I was completely winging it, especially when it came to the business side of things. Having that structure and support now has made a huge difference and given me the confidence to move forward.

How has your confidence grown since becoming a franchisee?

Since joining, I feel so much more confident. I’ve always been known for holding myself back due to self-doubt and not believing in my own abilities. But now, I’ve stepped out of my comfort zone more than ever and I’m starting to truly believe in what I’m capable of tuning out the noise and focusing on my own growth.

What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced and how did you overcome it?

My biggest challenge has probably been showing up on video for social media but I’ve done it and I know I need to keep going. Learning to block out what others might think has really helped. At the end of the day, if someone doesn’t like what they see, they’re simply not your people and that’s okay.

What do you wish you knew before you started your franchise journey?

What I wish I knew before starting my franchise journey is just how important having a strong support network would be not only from HQ but also from fellow teachers. I underestimated how much guidance and encouragement would make a difference, especially when navigating the business side of things and the unknown.

I also wish I’d fully appreciated the patience and persistence needed to grow something meaningful, especially balancing it with family life. It’s not always smooth sailing.

What are your future goals for your BabyBeats business?

My future goals for my BabyBeats business are to grow a supportive community where mums feel empowered during their postnatal journey. I want to expand my reach so more families can benefit from classes and expand offerings/areas.

If someone is thinking about starting a franchise, what advice would you give them?

If someone is on the fence about starting a BabyBeats franchise I would say go for it, I honestly wish I had done it sooner.

How would you describe BabyBeats in three words?

Supportive, empowering and connected.

Would you recommend a BabyBeats Franchise to other people?

Yeah I definitely recommend BabyBeats Franchise to others.

What inspired you to start your own BabyBeats franchise?
