To celebrate two years of Kitchen Makeovers Cambridge, husband-and-wife team Colin and Michelle Blackburn have launched a special giveaway to gift one deserving resident from their local area a brand-new kitchen. The initiative invites people across the Cambridge area to nominate someone they believe truly deserves a fresh start at home \u2013 whether they\u2019ve faced a tough time, gone above and beyond for others or are simply in need of a helping hand.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been thinking about doing a giveaway like this for a while, but we didn\u2019t just want to hand out a kitchen at random \u2013 it had to go to someone truly deserving within the Cambridge area,\u201d said Colin. \u201cWe know how much of a difference a new kitchen can make, especially for someone who might not otherwise be able to afford one. That\u2019s why we\u2019re going all in \u2013 the kitchen will be worth \u00a310,000, which is more than our average job, because we want this to really mean something to the person who wins.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve always been passionate about supporting our local community \u2013 whether it\u2019s sponsoring sports teams, getting involved in events like charity football matches or backing brilliant causes like the Just George charity. This giveaway felt like the next step \u2013 the biggest way we could give something back. We\u2019ve had amazing support from our suppliers too, with some even donating materials for the makeover. It\u2019s become a real team effort, and we can\u2019t wait to do something truly special for someone in our area,\u201d added Michelle.<\/p>\n
