Leading franchisor, Driver Hire, is a long-time supporter and corporate member of the Road Haulage Association (RHA), organisor of <strong>National Lorry Week<\/strong> (3rd \u2013 9th November 2025). Now into its eleventh year, this annual event celebrates the importance of the road transport industry.<\/p>\n<p>Driver Hire is a key sponsor of the week-long celebration, which has a powerful message: <strong>road haulage is the lifeblood of everyday life<\/strong>. It shines a spotlight on the vital role the logistics industry plays in keeping the UK moving\u2014from delivering food and medicine to powering businesses and communities. Focusing on skills and careers, National Lorry Week 2025 aims to inspire the next generation of drivers and logistics professionals.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the celebrations, the RHA is touring the UK with its branded National Lorry Week truck, a <strong>state-of-the-art truck driving simulator<\/strong> and an experienced instructor, Paul Allera (RHA Technical Director). It\u2019s Paul\u2019s job to help drivers navigate a virtual 44-tonne artic around a series of urban streets with a variety of tests.<\/p>\n<p>As a key National Lorry Week sponsor, Driver Hire was thrilled to be one of the venues on the simulator\u2019s nationwide tour. \u201cWe\u2019re delighted to bring this immersive experience to our Bradford head office,\u201d says Richard Owen-Hughes, Driver Hire\u2019s Group Marketing Director. \u201cThe simulator gives a first-hand insight into the skill, responsibility, and professionalism required to be a truck driver.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To add some additional fun to the day, there was a friendly competition to see who was Driver Hire\u2019s best virtual truck driver. The champion was National Sales Executive, Jordan Lenga with a 100% safety record and just one fault. \u201cIt showed me just how hard it is to drive an articulated lorry,\u201d says Jordan. \u201cThere are so many things to look out for and all adds up to lots of mental pressure. It certainly changed my perspective and respect for truck drivers who are doing this for real every day of the week.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Driver Hire has been a core sponsor of National Lorry Week for several years and continues to champion the industry\u2019s contribution to society.
