Birmingham, UK – Experienced entrepreneur Tochukwu Nwofor has outlined his vision for the newly opened Mail Boxes Etc. service centre on Birchfield Road, one of Birmingham’s busiest routes into the city centre.

Mr Nwofor, who holds an MBA (Master of Business Administration) from the University of South Wales, first gained recognition in 2013 as a contestant on the first season of Nigerian business reality television show The Next Titan, following a successful career in the banking and telecommunications sectors.

He later served as an advisor on the show’s second season and launched his own entrepreneurial online reality series, StreetWize, through his company JumpStart Ltd before relocating to the United Kingdom in 2017.

Since moving to the UK, he has built a diverse portfolio of ventures across several industries and has now expanded into the logistics and business services sector with the launch of the new Mail Boxes Etc. Birmingham Birchfield store.

The business is co-owned with his long-term friend and business partner Elisha Ogbodo, an NHS Urology Specialist Registrar. The pair graduated together in the early 2000s and have remained close collaborators since.

Supporting Local Businesses with Shipping, Print and Fulfilment Services

Mail Boxes Etc. is a global network providing shipping, fulfilment, print, marketing and mailbox services for small businesses, entrepreneurs and consumers.

Speaking about the launch, Mr Nwofor explained how the brand’s service offering aligns with growing business needs in Birmingham.

“Mail Boxes Etc. is the world’s leading third-party provider of shipping, fulfilment, print and marketing solutions to small and medium enterprises and consumers across the globe.

As a brand, Mail Boxes Etc. is currently bucking the trend on UK high streets and is one of the few chain store outlets opening more locations, which I believe is because its service range meets so many growing needs.”

Meeting the Needs of E-commerce and Home-Based Businesses

The growth of eCommerce businesses and remote working has created strong demand for professional logistics and fulfilment services, particularly for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Mr Nwofor highlighted how the Birchfield Road store can support local entrepreneurs who require secure mail handling and international shipping services.

“With ecommerce booming and the growth in working from home, there are a huge number of businesses in the local area who want a postal mailbox separate from their operational or residential address, along with a professional solution for shipping worldwide.”

The store provides customers with access to global courier networks, helping businesses ship parcels, documents and products internationally with professional packing and documentation support.

Simplifying International Shipping

International trade continues to evolve, with many businesses facing increasing complexity when shipping goods overseas.

“International trade is a hot topic at the moment, and many people are concerned about the increasing complexity and costs of trading overseas.

For sending parcels and documents anywhere in the world, we remove the burden of choosing the right shipping partner for each package and assist with the documentation required to ensure shipments arrive with minimal delays.

Our professional packing solutions also help ensure fragile items are exported and imported safely.”

Ambitions to Expand the Mail Boxes Etc. Network

The Birchfield Road store represents the beginning of a larger vision for Mr Nwofor and his business partner.

“I am delighted to be building this business in partnership with Elisha, who I have known since we graduated together in the early 2000s.

From this starting point in Birmingham, we have ambitious plans to develop an expanded Mail Boxes Etc. franchise footprint across the UK.”

Mail Boxes Etc. Growth on UK High Streets

Despite challenges facing retail locations in recent years, the Mail Boxes Etc. network continues to expand.

Research by the Local Data Company and PwC shows a net decrease of 25.7% in chain outlets opening on UK high streets between 2019 and 2023. In contrast, Mail Boxes Etc. plans to open up to 15 new service centres across the UK over the next three years.

The Birchfield Road launch demonstrates how franchise-based service businesses continue to find opportunities in local markets where logistics, shipping and business support services remain in high demand.
