International Women’s day is celebrated annually on 8th March and this year’s campaign theme is “An equal world is an enabled world” #EachforEqual #IWD2020.<\/h3>\n

There are over 40 female franchisees across the OSCAR network, and to mark this special day we would like to celebrate the achievements of our inspiring women business owners. OSCAR provides flexible working hours and can be successfully developed around home and family life; although drive and ambition are required to build and grow a successful business.<\/p>\n

The pet industry is of particular interest for women wanting to set up in business due to its demand for strong communication and networking skills. \u201cAfter spending 25 years in the bank as a commercial financial advisor to farming clients, I took voluntary redundancy. I went on to join a farm insurer as an ‘on farm insurance agent’ offering advice on the many aspects of insurance. After three stressful years of working unsociable hours and travelling around the country for little reward, I made my decision to move on.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs one door closes another opens and my research introduced me to franchising – a halfway house to running your own business with the benefits of working alongside a large organisation.
