Cents and Balance, a provider of bookkeeping services.

CHALLENGES

The leadership didn’t have a good handle on what areas in the business they needed to strengthen to support the double-digit growth they were experiencing. They doubled their business every year for the first 3 years of operations. The company’s owner felt like things could spiral out of control at any moment, and they wouldn’t be able to keep up with all that needed to be done to keep the business running smoothly.

SOLUTIONS

We began with our behavioral and talent assessment process. Team members were excited to learn about their communication and behavioral styles and how to read them to others. From there, we spent time analyzing the business’s actual capacity. Because they had experienced rapid growth and they weren’t sure how to measure productivity, we spent time understanding how to measure capacity. We then looked at developing baseline ways to measure output for the bookkeepers. This understanding of output measurements and capacity gave the owner confidence in when it would make sense to add more bookkeeping help to the business.

RESULTS

The company ended the year by nearly doubling again… only now, they felt in control and created an aggressive growth plan for the following year. Here’s what the client said in a testimonial: “My FocalPoint coach helped me stay on course and focused on the areas of the business that need attention to maintain our current activities and set my business up for future success.”
