A father-of-three from Dudley has launched his own business repairing domestic appliances, including washing machines and dishwashers, across the West Midlands, to meet a growing demand.
Mitchell Barnbrook, looking to achieve a better work-life balance, has set up MB Repairs, a domestic appliance repair firm covering Dudley and surrounding areas, to help people save money and reduce their carbon footprint by extending the lifespan of their domestic appliances.
The 36-year-old has a background in engineering and most recently worked as a mechanical fitter.
He will also partner with Pacifica Local, the UK’s largest white goods repair business, to reach more customers in his area by utilising Pacifica’s client network and using its industry leading technology platform.
A combination of the cost-of-living crisis and people becoming more environmentally aware, as well as manufacturers now being required to make spare parts available for certain appliances to help extend the lifespan of their products, have all fuelled demand for domestic repair experts.
Mitchell said: “I am looking forward to this new venture as it means I am now doing a job I relish, as I’ve always enjoyed the satisfaction of successfully repairing things.
“I have seen first-hand in my area, with the cost-of-living crisis biting, many people are opting to repair their appliances rather than replace them.
“Joining Pacifica Local’s network of engineers means I can assist more customers in my area to prolong the life of their appliances.”
