As a mum of two, our latest team member knows how precious the journey from birth onwards is. Say hello to Laura. She will be capturing family and baby moments through baby photography across Liverpool, Wirral and Cheshire. Say said “everyone told my husband and I “..the time will fly….blink and you’ll miss it..” and how right they were.
Laura has always loved a camera in her hands for as long as she can remember and appreciates the magic a photograph can capture.

As a newborn photographer, she will come to your home to set up my mobile studio ensuring that you and your baby are as comfortable and relaxed as possible, in your own surroundings. Like every PLP photo shoot, it is FREE and will usually last for 2-4 hours.
Baby’s safety is of paramount importance, All members have an enhanced DBS certificate and am fully insured.
As Laura’s baby photography business starts in Liverpool we caught up with her to ask a few questions about the franchise and her new business opportunities…
What drew you to the PLP franchise?
I’m a fairly risk-averse person and so had always thought setting up my own photography business would involve too many risks and so saw too many barriers that prevented me from forging ahead. I’m also someone who likes structure and I saw this in PLP. The risks are fairly low; there is a structured (and proven) business model to follow and I’m not alone; there is a community of photographers who want you to do well; who you are not in competition with and who will gladly give you hints and tips to succeed and grow your business.
What is it like owning your own business but with experienced support?
It is busy and exciting! Having the experienced support is something I value and it was a key element in my decision making when deciding on a franchisor. The ongoing support from my mentor, is what helps to keep me motivated and to identify new ways to approach potential alliances more effectively than if I was doing this alone.
What does it mean to you having the perfect work/life balance?
Due to it being very early days in business and having to make my existence known I’ve not yet got the perfect work/life balance as I’m working double the time I have been previously! This is due to me still working 3 days in my day job, doing this in the evening (when that’s possible) and for the remainder of the week. However, I don’t feel like this is a chore. I want to do it. I want to build my business and become a successful photographer with a great reputation.
What was the training like with the PLP team?
The training was brilliant. I thoroughly enjoyed a week of purely practical training that involved all the aspects required to the job – baby safety; posing (babies and parents); natural light; artificial light, camera settings; setting up equipment and creating hand and feet impressions. Even though it was full a week I never felt any undue pressure and felt fully supported.
What’s next for Laura and your baby photography business?
It’s really early days in my business so, for me, it is to continue to raise my profile, build alliances and a reputation that people trust and where I’ll become a family’s photographer.
