On 17 Jan 2025 at 13:36 two Radfield franchise partners, Radfield Home Care York and Radfield Home Care Wakefield, were featured in the January “Good News Stories” newsletter from the Homecare Association.
Franchise Development Director, Phil MacKechnie, makes sure that all Radfield Home Care business owners who are Homecare Association members actively seek out opportunities to share their positive news stories with the Homecare Association and the wider community. Reminding them that as a member, they have a platform to showcase their successes and contributions to the industry.
In many cases it is as simple as remembering to email the editor, as part of all the existing excellent work they are already doing.
As Phil says: “It’s truly inspiring to see our franchisees not only obtaining coverage but also dominating the news cycle!
“The benefits of obtaining local and industry coverage, such as that provided by the Homecare Association, are numerous. It boosts their brand recognition, enhances their reputation, and can even attract new clients and employees. It’s a win-win situation!”

Radfield Home Care donates £1,000 to keep clients’ heating on during Amber Weather Warning
Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale made the contribution as part of their Winter Energy Support Initiative.
The Winter Energy Support Initiative is part of Radfield Home Care’s efforts to help the most vulnerable clients stay warm during the January cold snap. As energy costs continue to rise, this initiative is designed to ease the financial pressure on those most at risk, ensuring they remain safe and comfortable in their homes.
In response to the drop in temperatures and cold forecast in January, the £1,000 donation will be shared among 20 clients identified by Radfield’s Care Professionals as being most in need. Each client will receive £50 to help with their energy bills during this critical time.
“At Radfield Home Care, we’re committed to supporting our clients in every way possible,” said Ed Gill, Director of Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale. “We understand that the rising cost of living and cold weather can make winter particularly challenging, and this initiative reflects our dedication to caring for our clients’ overall wellbeing.”
Jess Reed, Operations Manager at Radfield Home Care, added: “Our Care Professionals know our clients better than anyone, and their input in identifying those most in need has been invaluable. This initiative is a wonderful example of how we work as a team to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.”
This winter support initiative is an extension of Radfield’s person-centred approach, which prioritises not only the care needs of its clients but also their overall quality of life. “This is about more than care; it’s about community, compassion, and practical support when it matters most,” added Ed Gill.
