A former development baker, who spent five days on oxygen after contracting Covid-19, has received a huge vote of confidence in his new business venture.
Rob Cunningham’s frightening spell in hospital prompted him to reassess his life and pursue a long-held dream to run his own business and last January – during the second lockdown – he launched oven valeting service Ovenu Petersfield.
Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the 53-year-old says the business has gone from strength to strength, reflected by the fact it has attracted more than 200 maximum five star testimonials on customer reviews site Trustist.
Just a year-and-a-half after establishing the franchised business, he has a healthy order book and an ever-growing number of fresh enquiries.
Rob, who lives in East Hampshire, said: “It’s been brilliant. Getting out of the corporate world and becoming my own boss was the best decision I ever made.

Married to Claire, with a grown-up daughter Charlotte, Rob originally is from Essex. The family moved to Hampshire 19 years ago after he joined Rich Products Ltd, later becoming head of innovation, developing sweet bakery treats for major high street names.
Previously, he worked as a baker and finished his time there as production area manager for Greggs/Bakers Oven.
