There’s nothing we love more than celebrating our franchisees’ achievements, so imagine our excitement when we were informed that not one, but TWO of our franchises had won awards!

The SME News UK Enterprise Awards have been running for five years and celebrate the achievements of small and medium businesses across the country. As we all know, the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has created enormous hardship for businesses both large and small. These awards are designed to recognise the efforts of UK business owners to weather the storm through dedication and innovation and ensure their own survival.

There was no official ceremony but all of the winners are included in a celebratory awards magazine, which is published and circulated to an extensive mailing list. The winners are also included in a winners’ directory.

The first winner to congratulate is Julie Vernon, of Extra Help Telford and Wrekin, who won the ‘Best Independent Living Support Provider – Shropshire’ award. She was delighted by the news, saying:

“We were nominated by a council official for this award and were so pleased to have been selected! I’ve worked incredibly hard during the first year in business and definitely experienced many ups and downs but, essentially, I love the work we do to support our local community.”

The other winner was Mark Phillips, owner of Extra Help Wolverhampton, who also won the ‘Best Independent Living Support Provider’ for his own area.

“Although my business is only in its first year, it’s growing and it’s great to be recognised for that,” he says, “Obviously, it’s always an honour to win an award but this is extra-special, as it’s my first, and a baby step in the right direction. Awards are always positive as they help get your name out there and build your credibility.”

Congratulations to Julie and Mark! We’re very proud of you for working so hard over the past year and receiving these awards in recognition of your sterling efforts.
