A former operations manager at Heathrow Airport is charting a new career course with the launch of oven valeting service Ovenu Fleet.

After 27 years working for others – most recently as Head of Case Management and Customer Experience at Guildford Borough Council – Marc Chapman decided it was time to realise a long-held ambition to become his own boss.

“It’s about creating something of my own,” he said. “After nearly three decades working for other people, I reached a point where I wanted to challenge myself and take control of my future.

“I’m very much a people person, so I’m looking forward to getting out and into the community, and building a loyal client base through hard work, great service and reliability.”

His career has largely centred on providing excellent customer service, from managing operations at an airport to leading customer experience teams in local government, experience he believes will be invaluable in his new venture.

Living in Sandhurst with partner Chanell, their four children, a dog and two cats, Marc said Ovenu’s franchise model offers the perfect balance between independence and support.

“It really appeals because it gives me the freedom to run my own business while benefiting from the ongoing support of a trusted, well-established brand,” he added.

Originally from Kent, Marc moved to Berkshire in 2006, where his active family enjoys spending time outdoors exploring the countryside – something that aligns perfectly with his new, more flexible lifestyle.

Rik Hellewell, founder and managing director of Ovenu, said: “Marc’s wealth of experience in customer care and operations management makes him a fantastic addition to the Ovenu network. His enthusiasm and professionalism will serve him well.”

Covering postcodes GU17, GU46, GU51 and GU52, the new Ovenu territory includes Fleet, Blackwater, Hawley, Darby Green, Yateley, Frogmore, Elvetham Heath, Church Crookham, Crookham Village and surrounding areas.

The Ovenu process involves dismantling key oven components – such as doors, panels, fans and shelves – and cleaning them in design-registered tank equipment using safe, non-caustic and biodegradable products. The service leaves ovens in near showroom condition, and also covers hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves and range cookers.
