From bust to boom: how healthcare threw me a lifeline

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In 2007 the UK was facing the deepest recession since the second world war. This was a recession that would see the GDP fall by over 6%. Fast forward to 2020 and we now live in a world facing similar challenges.

As we saw over a decade ago, with any economic challenge some sectors thrived, and some sectors receded. It also saw the strength of many businesses operating in markets that provided resilience to economic challenges.

Like many fellow entrepreneurs at the time, Imran Qureshi was looking for an investment opportunity that would offer him the stability and security that can only be obtained from a sector deemed to be defiant to prolonged periods of low or negative growth, the healthcare sector. This was a sector that was new to Imran and he wanted the best chance of success. This meant franchising was the only option and with that, so was Kare Plus.

During his time as a franchisee, the Kare Plus model has provided Imran with a business with scalability and durability. It has provided security for his family and has further provided him the ability to reinvest in his business, enabling him to purchase two neighbouring sites. Imran’s journey is testament with the sentiment that change can lead to chance, especially in times of economic challenge. We have therefore decided to share Imran’s story with you to show that sometimes choosing to change is transformative to life.
