Caremark, the UK-based home care provider, has unveiled its five-year plan alongside a refreshed brand and a new team to drive the business forwards and tackle the care industry’s challenges.
David Glover and Lisa Fyfe – Caremark’s joint CEOs – announced the company’s challenging yet realistic five-year plan at the company’s recent annual conference at Silverstone this January. Aims include achieving Investors in People Gold Standard Accreditation, trebling the customer base, increasing franchisee satisfaction score year on year, and increasing the number of CQC Outstanding ratings by an additional 16%.
The company’s network of franchise owners is on board with the plans and is setting targets within their own businesses to support the overall goals.
Furthermore, David and Lisa recognised that changes must be made to exceed expectations and take the business to a new level. They expressed how Caremark’s increased franchise support centre team are fundamental to making this happen, and the promotion of Kirsty Jones to Director of Training & Compliance, coupled with the employment of new quality managers, will bring a renewed vigour to the high-quality of care Caremark is renowned for.
David commented: “Caremark’s core values remain unchanged, reflecting our commitment to providing professional, safe, caring, fun, joyful and cheerful care to those in need. The company is proud of its heritage and strives to uphold these values in every interaction with customers, their families and colleagues.
“We recognise the care industry’s recruitment challenges posed by Brexit, COVID-19 and the furlough scheme, but Caremark continues to provide care for thousands of people. Under the new leadership, and with our new refreshed branding, the company can go full steam ahead to expand our reach and positively impact even more lives in the coming years.”
In addition to David and Lisa, the senior management team comprises Emma Scholes (Director of Marketing), Kelly Blackmore-Lee (Director of Training & Compliance), Kirsty Jones (Director of Training and Compliance), and Mark Thompson (Director of Franchise Recruitment). Simon Dalziel, a non-executive director of Caremark, completes the senior team.
The company is committed to improving the industry’s current situation. It will work hard to implement changes such as campaigning for an increase in government funding, reviewing pay and working conditions for care staff and investing in technology to improve the delivery of care services. Finally, and a top priority to Caremark, is the urgent need to promote the home care industry, ensuring it is viewed as a desirable and fulfilling career option to attract more workers and help alleviate the staffing shortage.
