After spending 20 years in the IT sector, Luke Finch has opted for a full career reboot with the launch of oven valeting service, Ovenu Witney.
In his initial roles, Luke travelled extensively across the UK and Ireland installing systems for major retailers, but for the past four years he’s worked full-time from his Oxfordshire home, spending much of his day in front of a computer screen.
“Working from home has its advantages, especially with a young family, but I missed getting out and about, and meeting people,” he said. “I reached a point where I just wanted a complete change.”
Having researched his options, he chose an Ovenu franchise – attracted by its proven business model, brand presence and ongoing support – and secured a Government-backed start-up loan to launch the business.
Luke, who grew up in Ducklington, near Witney, and attended Henry Box School, added: “I’m excited to be in control of my future, where I’m rewarded for the effort I put in. I know the area extremely well, and with a completely new territory, my focus is on delivering an excellent service and building up a loyal client base. In time, my ambition is to expand and take on an additional oven technician.”

During his career in IT, Luke progressed from installing retail systems to leading project management teams involved in the delivery of major IT installations and upgrades for major corporate brands.
Married with a 10-year-old son and a daughter, aged six, in his spare time he plays darts for West Witney Sports and Social Club and is a volunteer referee for his son’s under-11s football team.

The Ovenu process involves dismantling key oven components – such as doors, interior panels, fans, and shelves – and cleaning them in design-registered tank equipment using safe, non-caustic, and biodegradable products. The service leaves ovens in near showroom condition and also covers hobs, extractor hoods, microwaves, and range cookers.
