Pets 2 Places Ltd were up for Innovative Business of the Year at the British Business Awards 2024 in November.
A pet taxi is still a relatively unheard of service, but Pets 2 Places have actually been going over 10 years, founded in Milton Keynes, by Claire Harris, who turned the successful service into a franchise opportunity, claims its all thanks to the customers.
“I started Pets 2 Places, then called Pets2vets, on a bit of a whim to be honest. It was only the feedback from the customers and seeing how needed the service was that encouraged me to grow.
Customers would say they wanted to go to more places than just the vets, like the groomers or kennels. I listened to everything the customers said and when they started telling me, that their friend or family member didn’t have anything like this service where they lived; I listened and created the franchise opportunity along with the name change”
A pet taxi is a great service for those who don’t drive, are housebound and rely on the service to take their pet for them, one car family’s or those who are just short on time.
Pets 2 Places has gone from strength to strength since it started, growing year on year, even in Covid, they carried on as an essential service provider. Taking pets to the vets, adhering to the social distancing at the time and ensuring that pets got the medical treatment they needed despite what was going on in the wider world.
Whilst Pets 2 Places didn’t win the award for Innovative Business of the Year, its certainly a huge accomplishment to even make the final, with hundreds of entries and only a handful of finalists, that’s win enough for Pets 2 Places Ltd
“There’s always next year”, said founder Claire Harris. “We are here for the long term, you cant win them all. The winner was well deserved Radio Mind are doing great work to help people with their mental health, its great they won and received the recognition they deserve”
