The finalists for the Encouraging Women into Franchising (EWIF) awards have been announced, and we are so proud to have not one, but two of our franchisees make it through to the shortlist!

On Wednesday 11th April, along with many franchises who nominated their women in franchising for the annual EWIF Awards, we waited with bated breath to find out whether we had made the shortlist. We were elated to learn that we had not one, but two women listed in the EWIF prestigious list of finalists!!

Finalist for Woman Franchisee of the Year, Ruth Solomons, Right at Home Harrow

local franchises for saleRuth had a hugely successful 2017, having doubled the number of care hours and Clients in her business. As a result, she is making preparations to move her Right at Home office to a more spacious location, which will also allow her to facilitate care training.

Ruth has expanded the services her business offers by introducing Right at Home’s new Live-in service. She has risen to become the biggest supplier of live-in care within our network; a testament of her drive and dedication to quality care, and of the trust that Clients place in her services.

The philosophy Ruth has implemented across her team is to ‘move heaven and earth’ for her Clients. This standard, combined with her honest and open approach to providing care, means her Clients are so happy with the service they receive, they often do some of Ruth’s promotion for her. This includes consistently being rated 9.7/10 for the quality of care they receive, on the sector’s leading independent review website, homecare.co.uk.

Congratulations Ruth, on being shortlisted – a commendable achievement for your passion and dedication to your Right at Home business!

Finalist for New Woman Franchisee of the Year, Julie Houston, North Cheshire

part time franchise ukDespite opening her Right at Home franchise less than 12 months ago, Julie has already made a substantial impact within the Right at Home network and her local area!

The Right at Home mission is to improve the quality of life for our Clients and their families, and Julie epitomises our values to a tee. First and foremost, she exists to serve her Clients. Whilst growth and profitability are important, she was determined these would come from carrying the spirit of our mission and values right through her company.

Julie set about implementing a growth plan which was purposefully conservative, to ensure she only employed people who were as passionate about care as she was. Despite being cautious, by the end of 2017, Julie was 27% up on projected revenue for Year 1, even though she had only been operating for just under nine months.

Once launched, Julie started strong, training as a Dementia Friend with the Alzheimer’s Society. She held talks in her local area to raise awareness of the condition and be an advocate for dementia-friendly communities. By her fourth month, Julie was already receiving rave reviews on homecare.co.uk (the UK’s number 1 home care rating website) and by December her Care Score was 10/10 with every reviewer giving a rating of ‘excellent’ across 6 key areas – something many of our franchisees still strive for.

Congratulations Julie, on being shortlisted – a great achievement for your first year with Right at Home!

Making it into a shortlist of the franchising industry’s most respected brands is a demonstration of all the hard work our franchisees put into building their businesses. We wish all the finalists well – but especially Ruth and Julie! We will be cheering you ladies on at the EWIF awards event on Tuesday 15th May!
