PerCurra, the national care at home company, has announced that its franchise in Southend, Essex, is looking to recruit additional employees following the appointment of a new Registered Care Manager.

Claire Murphy has joined PerCurra Southend and a key part of her role will be to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to PerCurra’s clients in Southend and Essex.

This is something close to the heart of Claire, who changed career to pursue her passion for delivering the highest possible standards of care following the death of her father from motor neurone disease (MND) nine years ago.

Claire has since held a variety of managerial positions in healthcare especially senior management roles, in hospitals, residential care homes and most recently as a Head of Department at a renowned chemotherapy clinic on Harley Street, London.

Claire comments: “My father encouraged me to pursue my passion for working within the healthcare sector and I have thoroughly enjoyed the last nine years of my career. The experience of caring for my father whilst he suffered with MND raised my awareness of how the standard of care makes a huge difference to a person’s quality of life and the benefits this brings to the emotional well-being of their family.  This drive is something I have demonstrated in all my roles and I am looking forward to working with the team at PerCurra Southend, adding my experience and delivering excellent care outcomes for our clients.”

In addition to Claire, PerCurra Southend is also looking to recruit further members of staff to meet the increased demand for its services across southeast Essex. Several positions are currently available for both experienced care practitioners and those looking to begin a rewarding career in care.

The company is looking for people committed to delivering the highest standards of care for its broad range of clients. Bespoke care packages are designed to meet the needs of individuals and PerCurra’s ethos enables practitioners to spend quality time with their clients. The majority of the business is focussed on providing care for people who are under 65.

Claire Murphy adds: “It’s often thought that the home care sector involves looking after elderly people and there is a stigma about the day to day role of what’s involved. However, at PerCurra, 75% of our business provides care for people who are under the age of 65. Our services are for people with a range of needs resulting from learning or physical disabilities, mental health or other health issues. We pride ourselves in helping people live the life they want to live, which makes this an extremely rewarding career.”
