What a Year it’s Been: 2019 at Banana Moon Day Nursery

It’s safe to say that 2019 was a landmark year for the Banana Moon brand!

This year has seen us truly ‘growing our world’, with new branding, exciting marketing activity, the opening of several new nurseries and our brand going international.

Expanding Across the UK

This year has seen new Banana Moon nurseries spring up around the country, taking our total UK location count to 49! Not only that – we are delighted to announce that the Banana Moon brand has gone international, with BM Childcare launching in China and Bahrain.

September 2019 saw our third Midnight Moon Awards take place – an annual celebration of our nurseries’ hard work, dedication and accomplishments. The awards are the pinnacle of the Banana Moon events calendar – to shine a light on those who have gone above and beyond to create the best experience for each and every child in our care.

Top 100 Franchise Status

We were thrilled to be included in Franchise Direct’s Top 100 Franchises in the UK for 2019, alongside household names and global franchises such as Starbucks, McDonald’s and Swarovski. We offer a proven successful franchise model within a rewarding, thriving industry – and this recognition from Franchise Direct shows how our brand is continuing to grow!

New Marketing Initiatives

We also took our marketing to exciting new heights in 2019. Our first-ever Banana Moon TV advert was a huge success – it was one of the first Sky AdSmart adverts to be shown on Virgin, and reached an average of 11,240 people each month. We also launched the ‘Wiggle’ branding, where our logo, colour palette, typeface and marketing materials were updated, helping to set us apart from the competition.

Not only that – our brand-new internal ‘Hub’ includes a wealth of updated features and ways for our nurseries to connect. The Hub demonstrates the level of ongoing support we give each franchisee – they can easily access the latest documents, new articles and share tips with well-established settings.

Parent App

We recognise the importance of parents spending as much time as possible with their child while they attend our nursery, and also the significance of making sure that we are tracking their individual development with the Early Years Foundation Stages. Our ongoing investment in nursery software management helps us achieve just that.

In 2019 we launched our custom-made Parent App software, which is designed to make capturing observations of children’s development easy, with the ability to share precious moments at the click of a button.
