My name is Amy Stephenson. I founded Human Recruitment back in 2013 because I didn’t like where the industry was going. Slowly but surely, recruitment was morphing into a very transactional, numbers driven industry. From my point of view, that was wrong and often results in a substandard experience for the client, the candidate, AND the recruiter.

Recruitment is about the individual, it’s about the people that we support, and how to help businesses grow by appointing the best fitting individual into a team. It’s about helping someone achieve their career goals because they had the confidence to go for that job, nail the interview they were having doubts about, or meet with the CEO of the business they’ve always wanted to work for.

I wanted to build a business that focussed on filling 3 great vacancies with people who truly belong in the business and who will add value long after the rebate has lapsed, rather than throwing CV’s at 10 vacancies that would be back open again in a few months time. I like to envision an entire change of perception when it comes to our branch. As such, at Human, we focus on 5 core values:

  3. Always undertake evidence based approaches to recruitment

Whether we’re talking about our clients, people looking for a job, or someone who wants to partner up with us, it is our belief that the individual comes first and foremost. We strive to do away with the suits, cold calling, sales competitions, and CV flinging being the “epitome” of recruitment.

Personally, I have over 10 years of experience in recruitment. For 7 of them, I worked hard to build a business that supports our clients and candidates from multiple points of view. I felt accomplished with what I had achieved and decided that I want to welcome other people into our way of operating. So, Mark (my recruitment coach at the time) and I decided to create Human Associates, an opportunity for others to benefit from high-profile coaching, and our combined experience of over 30 years!
