Reading Time: 2 minutesWith over 35 years of experience managing multinational British retail chains, Wirral born and bred David Harrison has swapped life on the high street for a national domestic housekeeping franchise business, Bright & Beautiful®, covering the Wirral and its surrounding areas.

Having left school at 16, David Harrison has spent his entire career in retail and held a number of senior positions in the industry, including director roles at Dunelm, TJ Hughes, TK Maxx and most recently at the Liverpool flagship Marks & Spencer store, where he spent three years as a senior manager with 400 personnel.

David wanted a new challenge and business opportunity in a growing sector where he could apply his extensive knowledge and skillset gained from the retail sector. He chose to buy a Bright & Beautiful franchise and has already started to deliver an eco-friendly cleaning, tidying, laundry and ironing service with the highest standards of security and service to clients in just one week of trading.

David is determined to make an impact in the local area and has been busy recruiting local people for his business, including a Quality Training Supervisor and two housekeepers, with the plan to create a further 15 housekeeping jobs over the coming months. In addition to offering a cleaning service, the business offers a drop-in laundry and ironing service.

David says: “After working my way up the retail ladder to senior positions, it has given me real insight into running my own franchise and what high standards can be achieved by recruiting the right people and giving them the right training, motivation and inspiration to do things well. The skills I have gained in retail are proving to be totally transferable to franchising and will be invaluable to the day to day management of my new Bright & Beautiful business, from organisational through to managing a workforce, dealing with customers and financials. I am really excited to not only generate roles for local people, but to provide a first-class housekeeping service at the heart of the community.”

Sue Moore, Managing Director of Bright & Beautiful, said: “We’re proud to welcome David to our close network and are looking forward to supporting and guiding him throughout his exciting journey with us. He brings great team building experience, management skills and is determined to provide an invaluable service to busy clients who are looking to regain some free time. With David’s proven success in the retail sector, he exemplifies the kind of franchise owner that we look for across our industry and shows others the fantastic opportunities that exist in our growing network.”

Based in the Wirral, Bright & Beautiful covers the Wirral, including Neston, West Kirby, Heswall, Hoylake, Frankby & Greasby, Brimstage, Bebbington, Thursaston, New Brighton and surrounding areas. It is part of a national network of over 60 franchisees building their own local business, creating over 700 jobs and delivering more than 10,000 home service cleans per month.
