The Great British Franchisee Awards focuses on the people who have made UK franchising a success.  Recognising outstanding performance of franchisees, regardless of the size of their business or the sector they work in.

The winners were chosen based on a number of factors including Franchisee Stability and Business Experience, Driving Business Growth, Customer Satisfaction, Community Involvement, Inspired Leadership and Franchise Involvement.

Andy’s hard work and franchise success, including business growth, taking his business from a single mobile operation to multi-van and fixed based workshop in a couple of years, makes him a worthy winner. Andy has achieved fantastic customer satisfaction with his 5* Trustpilot and 4.2* Google rating. He has also shown his commitment to franchise involvement by becoming a business mentor, supporting fellow franchisees from business launch and being there for any general help and advice as needed.

Andy Darby, Owner of ChipsAway Cambridge, Huntingdon and St Neots said: “I am absolutely delighted to receive the award and must give credit to the superb team I have working with me. Andy is a very worthy winner and a credit to the ChipsAway network. His involvement in the network as a business mentor is outstanding. When a member of the network needs support, he is always there on the other end of the phone. Not only is Andy an asset to the franchise network, he has built a very successful multi-van and fixed base car body repair business in the Cambridge, Huntingdon and St Neots area and should be extremely proud of his achievements to date. We are sure there are even more to come!”

The awards were judged by a prestigious judging panel of industry experts, including Suki Dehal – Lloyds Bank, Head of Franchising, Aman Nirwal – BDO, Senior Key Account Manager Franchising, Euan Fraser – AMO Consulting, and Derrick Simpson, Companion of the British Franchise Association.

Aman Nirwal, BDO said “I thoroughly enjoyed reviewing all the applications and it has been so refreshing to see how all sizes of businesses from various sectors have coped and adapted their business in response to not only Covid-19 but looking at sustainable growth and business resilience for many years to come. It was great to see so many applications and from a cross section of franchisees too.”
