Blue Ribbon Community Care was established 5 years after the incredible success of Calon Lan Community Care in Wales. We wanted to share our success with like minded people and so we created a brand to reflect the reputation we worked so hard to achieve.
Blue Ribbon has gone on to receive the homecare.co.uk ‘homecare group award’ for the last four years and with our first OUTSTANDING judgement from the CQC in 2018 we continue to live up to our name.
Blue Ribbon Home Care Franchise is proud to be a member of the British Franchise Association (BFA).
According to the recent surveys, the headline figures in 2016 for Home Care services in England are:
- Total people using domiciliary care: 673,000
- Total hours of domiciliary care delivered: 249 million
- Total direct expenditure on domiciliary care: £3.3 billion
- Local authority expenditure: £2.6 billion
- Expenditure by self-funders: £623 million
- Total people receiving a direct payment: 144,000
- Total expenditure on direct payments: £1.4 billion
- Total people employed in the domiciliary care sector: 527,000
How Our Model Works
This is a management Franchise, offering a wide range of services including, Live-In Care & Companionship, Cleaning & assisting and personal care and support to not just older people but anyone in our communities who requires it.
As a Blue Ribbon Franchisee, you don’t just get assistance to set up your home care business, but also receive expert training and continuous guidance & support from a multi-award winning support team.
The Blue Ribbonfranchise model is not only about being in business for yourself, it is also about being part of something bigger.
On-going support is provided before and after your business is set up. As a Blue Ribbon Franchisee, you’ll become part of a community of like-minded business people, with the ability to network, compare notes, share ideas and experiences, and stay motivated. Blue Ribbon’s ‘values’ will ensure you are always supported, assisted and encouraged throughout your business development.
You will operate from premises within your territory which will cover a minimum of 200,000 people. You will be responsible for managing your business’ growth, development, finances and management team.
The quality of care we deliver is a reflection of the continuous improvement and dedicated support provided to our Franchisees.
As well as providing training and business development guidance, we provide assistance with the day to day running of your business, helping you make the best decisions.
Blue Ribbon’s Franchisee training was developed by our Managing Director who has a Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCert).
With a focused and bespoke training and development programme, you will also receive ongoing support with:
- Business Development
- Best Practices in Care
- Finance (our Finance Director is a qualified accountant)
The initial investment of a Blue Ribbon Home Care franchise is approximately £75,000, which covers the franchise fee of £27,500 (currently there is no VAT to pay), set-up costs, employee recruitment and the working capital to get the business to break even. The minimum investment of £35,000 is subject to status.
There is also an ongoing royalty fee of 4.75% (excl. VAT) of monthly turnover.
By year 5, it would not be unrealistic for a Blue Ribbon Franchisee to achieve a £1 million turnover with operating profits of 15-20%.
